The Ourika Valley: the closest

The Ourika is the easiest day trip (6 hours, 80 km round trip): Berber villages, cultivated terraces, tea with a local family and lunch by the river. From €138 for the group in a sedan.

Imlil: the high mountains

Imlil (8 hours, 130 km) takes you to the foot of Toubkal, the highest peak in North Africa. You walk to the neighbouring hamlets and have lunch on a mountain terrace. From €184.

Ouzoud: the waterfalls

The Ouzoud Waterfalls, with a drop of more than 100 metres, call for a long day (11 hours, 320 km). The path leads down to the edge of the falls, where you come across macaques and can take a boat ride. From €298.

How to choose

  • Short on time, in the mood for easy nature: the Ourika.
  • Keen to walk and see the peaks: Imlil.
  • After the big spectacle and ready for a long day: Ouzoud.

What about the Agafay Desert?

For a sunset, the Agafay Desert (5 hours, €135) is the shortest option, with a camel ride or quad biking at extra cost.
